Maya Angelou once said “Nothing can dim the light that shines from within.”Which makes me think there is an ease to Camelia Farhoodi that feels increasingly rare online these days. Culture today often rewards performance over presence, but with Camelia as both the model and the creator , she has built a following not through reinvention, but rather, through a clear sense of her own self. Her images are polished, her aesthetic considered, yet beneath the visual language is something far more enduring: warmth, instinct and more importantly authenticity. For this story, Camelia wears the new CHANEL ROUGE COCO HYDRA GLOSS, a beauty essential that feels less about transformation and more about amplification. The gloss catches the light much like Camelia does, enhancing rather than obscuring, bringing focus to expression, individuality and confidence. As part of LOVEWANT's ongoing exploration of voice, self-expression and identity, we spoke with Camelia about growing up in the age of visibility, navigating the space between performance and authenticity, and the importance of remaining true to yourself in a world that constantly asks for more. The result is a conversation that is candid, thoughtful and refreshingly human, revealing a woman whose greatest strength lies in perhaps not in being seen, but in knowing exactly who she is when nobody is looking.

You have such a strong visual instinct online. Do you feel like the camera understands you, or do you consciously shape what people see?
Camelia Farhoodi
if anything, the opposite…I understand the camera well…and myself. we work unanimously. I know what I love, and I have a strong sense of direction, which makes doing my job all the more enjoyable!
Bartolomeo Celestino
You’re part of a generation raised on image and visibility. Do you think self expression today feels more freeing or more performative?
Camelia Farhoodi
I think it can be both, at the beginning of my career it was absolutely performative… I started content creation during covid, so I had no choice but to put on an ‘act’ for content. Now, i steer far from that. I live in the moment, and if the moment is right and all aligns… the content happens organically.
Bartolomeo Celestino
When do you feel most confident, in front of the camera, privately, or somewhere in between?
Camelia Farhoodi
Somewhere in between. when I feel confident in real life, the confidence also translates on camera.
Bartolomeo Celestino
Even when things aren’t perfect, your presence still feels very self possessed. What keeps you grounded within that?
Camelia Farhoodi
I’m always true to myself. I think that’s something that I really pride myself on. if things aren’t perfect, I take a break & I step back for a minute. Pushing myself isn’t worth it, I’ve learnt that the hard way.
Bartolomeo Celestino
What’s something people misunderstand about you from the version they see online?
Camelia Farhoodi
It’s funny, the thing most people say when they meet me is how expressive I am. I laugh very loud, I use my hands when I talk & I’m extremely bubbly. I don’t show a lot of expression through my images so I get how that can sway people’s idea of me.
Bartolomeo Celestino
How much of your online presence is instinctive versus intentional?
Camelia Farhoodi
if it’s work, it’s most likely intentional. Most of my unpaid work is organic!
Bartolomeo Celestino
What kind of energy do you hope people feel from you before you even speak?
Camelia Farhoodi
I hope they feel my warmth. More recently my mother’s friends have told me that I remind them of her more & more as I get older. If I walk past you, I’ll smile. If we’re laughing together, I’ll hold your hand. I think it’s really sweet.
Bartolomeo Celestino
If your personality had a frequency or mood, how would you describe it?
Camelia Farhoodi
Warm, expressive and chaotic.
Bartolomeo Celestino
Lips can communicate so much without words, confidence, tension, softness, attitude. Do you think about expression in that way?
Camelia Farhoodi
Absolutely. Most of my work is an expression. I want to make people feel something when they consume my content. Whether it’s through music, location or the clothes I’m wearing… the food I’m eating, the chair I’m sitting on… the list could go on.
Bartolomeo Celestino
Does wearing gloss, colour, or beauty in general ever shift how you carry yourself or how you feel in a moment?
Camelia Farhoodi
Yes, absolutely. Although, I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing. I would love to say I’m confident without all of the ‘things’. But sometimes we all need a little booster in this world of chaos. Whether it be a brown lip gloss or a new pair of shoes. Life’s short, if the gloss makes you feel something then I say put it on!
